A36 hot rolled steel bar channels are an excellent candidate for most processing techniques. A36 hot rolled steel channels have a rough, blue-grey finish. A36 material is a low carbon steel, often referred to as mild steel which is long lasting and durable. These channels are classified as “bar size” due to their greatest dimension (excluding length) being less than 3 inches, they’re lightweight and designed for smaller projects. Common applications include structural support, trailers, railing, fencing and other architectural uses. ASTM A36 / A36M-08 is the standard specification for carbon structural steel.

Channel bar also known as heavy duty purlins, channel bars are recognizable as a long rolled bar forming a hard U shape – the flanges creating right angles on both sides. Its smaller variation is more commonly used for frame supports in automobiles. For bigger construction and bridge decks, the larger form of channel bars can be used, harnessing its ability to absorb flex and rigid force that might damage I-beams or H-beams.
