Hot Rolled Steel is available in many shapes, grades, and sizes.
To make the steel easier to form and to create products that are easier to work with; hot rolled steel has been roll-pressed at very high temperatures that are typically above the re-crystallization temperature for most steels.
Since hot rolled steel is cooled after processing, it shrinks slightly, creating less control over its final shape, making it less suitable for precision applications. Hot rolled steel is typically used in applications where very specific dimensions aren’t critical.
